What Is a Prefabricated Steel Structure Building?
A prefabricated steel structure building is a bolt-together steel frame system in which every column, rafter, purlin, and connection plate is precision-cut, drilled, and welded in our factory — then containerized and shipped to your site for rapid assembly.
Unlike traditional on-site steel fabrication (which is slow, weather-dependent, and expensive in most countries), our approach delivers:
· 30–50% faster construction compared to conventional steel erection
· Zero on-site welding — 100% bolted connections
· Lower total project cost through factory efficiency and reduced site labor
· Consistent quality — every component passes dimensional inspection before packing
· This is not a "steel kit." This is a fully engineered structure, designed to your local wind, snow, and seismic loads.
Project Location: Lanseria Airport, Gauteng Province, South Africa Project Type: Complex consisting of aircraft hangar, aviation material exhibition hall and office area Building Area: 3,600 ㎡ (2,400 ㎡ for hangar + 1,200 ㎡ for exhibition hall & office) Delivery Schedule: 55 days for design + 50 days for fabrication + 70 days for sea freight & erection
The client is a South African general aviation distributor, planning to build a service centre at Lanseria Airport integrating aircraft display, maintenance & custody, and aviation material storage. The local South African steel structure codes adopt the British standard system, with special local requirements for wind load and lightning protection.
The combination of large-area floor-to-ceiling glass and steel frame in the exhibition hall imposes extremely high requirements on installation precision. We adopted 3D laser scanning for pre-assembly at the factory stage to ensure the deviation between on-site curtain wall keels and steel structures is controlled within ±3 mm.
Customer Reviews
"The SAISC award caught us by surprise — we entered it almost as an afterthought. The judges specifically mentioned the facade integration between the steel frame and the full-height glazing. What they didn't see was the five rounds of shop drawings your team went through to get those tolerances right. Our architect initially wanted a local steel contractor because he 'didn't trust overseas fabrication'. After visiting the factory via video call and seeing the 3D laser scan pre-assembly of the first bay, he withdrew his objection. He is now specifying your company by name on his other projects."
· How long does it take from order to delivery?
· Typical timeline: design & engineering 15–25 working days + fabrication 25–50 working days + ocean freight (varies by destination; e.g., 22 days to West Africa, 30 days to Europe, 35 days to East Coast North America). Most projects arrive on site within 10–14 weeks of order confirmation.
· Can you handle the structural design and calculations?
· Yes. Our in-house engineering team produces a complete structural package — frame analysis, connection design, foundation reaction tables, and anchor bolt layouts — referenced to your local building code. We can also coordinate with your local engineer of record for plan review and permit submission.
