What Is a Prefabricated Steel Structure Building?

A prefabricated steel structure building is a bolt-together steel frame system in which every column, rafter, purlin, and connection plate is precision-cut, drilled, and welded in our factory — then containerized and shipped to your site for rapid assembly.

Unlike traditional on-site steel fabrication (which is slow, weather-dependent, and expensive in most countries), our approach delivers:

· 30–50% faster construction compared to conventional steel erection

· Zero on-site welding — 100% bolted connections

· Lower total project cost through factory efficiency and reduced site labor

· Consistent quality — every component passes dimensional inspection before packing

· This is not a "steel kit." This is a fully engineered structure, designed to your local wind, snow, and seismic loads.

Project Case

Project Location: Ottawa Valley, Ontario Building Type: Private agricultural machinery repair workshop Building Area: 480 ㎡ (16 m × 30 m) Eave Height: 4.5 m; Ridge Height: 6.0 m Delivery Schedule: 15‑day design + 25‑day production + 20‑day land transportation & installation

Project Background

The client is a farmer owning a 200‑acre mixed‑use farm in the Ottawa Valley. He requires a workshop for repair and maintenance of combine harvesters, seed drills and tractors, which also serves as winter storage for farm machinery. Per NBCC requirements, the ground snow load for the Ottawa Valley is 2.8 kPa (Ss = 2.3, Sr = 0.4), with minimum ambient temperature dropping to ‑35 ℃.

Technical Solution

  • Portal frame structure; Q235B welded H‑section steel columns; clear span 16 m, column spacing 6.0 m
  • Design roof snow load: 2.9 kPa (including snow‑drift factor Cw); Z‑shaped cold‑formed continuous purlins spaced at 1.2 m on‑centre
  • Envelope system: 75 mm rock‑wool sandwich panels for walls; 100 mm rock‑wool sandwich panels with anti‑condensation facing for roof
  • 4.5 m × 5.0 m electric rolling shutter door on the east gable; 3.0 m × 3.0 m personnel access door on the west side
  • Helical pile foundation: piles embedded 2.5 m deep to penetrate the frost layer and prevent frost heave
  • Two infrared gas‑fired radiant heaters are suspended from the bottom chord of roof trusses inside the workshop

Project Highlights

The helical‑pile foundation eliminates the difficulty of concrete pouring in winter. Installation of 15 helical piles was completed within 2 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

· How long does it take from order to delivery?

· Typical timeline: design & engineering 15–25 working days + fabrication 25–50 working days + ocean freight (varies by destination; e.g., 22 days to West Africa, 30 days to Europe, 35 days to East Coast North America). Most projects arrive on site within 10–14 weeks of order confirmation.

· Can you handle the structural design and calculations?

· Yes. Our in-house engineering team produces a complete structural package — frame analysis, connection design, foundation reaction tables, and anchor bolt layouts — referenced to your local building code. We can also coordinate with your local engineer of record for plan review and permit submission.
