Project Background
The client sought to construct a new warehouse in Mexico requiring a clear internal height of at least 10 meters and the installation of six 10-ton overhead bridge cranes, all while complying with Mexico's CFE seismic standards.
Technical Solution
• Utilized a gable-frame (portal frame) structure with three 24m spans and a column spacing of 7.5m.
• Independently designed the crane runway beam system using welded H-beams, with fatigue strength verified according to AISC 360-16 standards.
• Established a seismic-resistant system incorporating inter-column bracing along the building's length and horizontal roof bracing.
• Employed 75mm rock wool sandwich panels for the walls and installed FRP daylighting strips on the roof (achieving an 8% daylighting ratio).
Project Highlights
• Sea transport took only 22 days (Xiamen to Manzanillo), resulting in on-site arrival one week ahead of the client's schedule. Following the facility's commissioning, the steel structure passed a third-party audit with zero defects.
